Harvesting of Mustard Crop Begins in Rajasthan
About 25.44 lakh ha mustard acreage in Rajasthan
this Rabi season has been almost 1 lakh ha less as compared to last Rabi season
(SEA of India). As per the ground
information, the crop is currently matured and farmers are harvesting their
crop. There are mixed reactions on the expected production of mustard in the
state.
In Alwar,
considering the sowing during 45th week of the year, the growth
index of mustard is 1878 which indicates that crop is almost in maturity stage.
As per the ground information, farmers have already started harvesting of the crop
which was sown during mid-October. Despite dry winter, farmers are expecting good
production. Currently, the max
temperature in the district is ranging around 31oC and min
temperature is around 21oC.

In Ganganagar,
the growth index of mustard is 1920 when sown during 45th week of
the year. It indicates that the crops is reaching at maturity. As per the field
information, the harvesting of the crop, sown during mid-October, has already
commenced a couple of days ago. Presently, the day temperature is hovering
around 30oC and night temperature is around 18oC. During
next seven days, light to moderate rainfall is expected.
In Hanumangarh,
considering the sowing during 45th week of the year, the growth
index of mustard is 2096 which depicts maturity of the crop. According to field information, farmers have
commenced harvesting from the beginning of March. Currently, the maximum
temperature is ranging around 30oC and minimum temperature is around
16oC. Light to moderate rainfall is likely over the district during
next seven days.
In Jhunjhunun,
the growth index of mustard is 1976 when sowing was started from 45th
week of the year and according to it the crop is reaching maturity stage. As
per the ground information, harvesting of the mustard sown during mid-October has
been started and farmers are expecting lower production as compared to last
year. The current maximum temperature in the district is around 30oC
and minimum temperature is hovering around 18oC. During next seven
days, light rainfall is expected in the district.
In Kota,
considering the sowing during 45th week of the year, the growth
index of mustard is 2240 which depicts maturity of the crop. According to field information, farmers have
commenced the harvesting from the first week of the March. Farmers are
expecting good production. Currently, the maximum temperature in the district is
ranging around 33oC and minimum temperature is around 20oC.
Light rainfall is likely over the district during next seven days.
