Chickpea Crop Status in Rajasthan
During this Rabi Season, Chickpea has been
sown in about 12.35 lakh ha area till 17th December against the targeted
area of 14.50 lakh ha. In this report we have collated the field information,
analysis carried out by ‘metGIS®’ for Chickpea crop and current
weather conditions in several districts of Rajasthan.
In Bikaner,
the cumulative growth index of chickpea in the district is 1807 when sowing was
commenced during 43rd week of the year. The growth index indicates flowering
stage of the crop. The relative humidity
during the growth period has been between 44 and 76 percent. Currently, the
maximum temperature is ranging around 31oC and minimum temperature
is around 12oC. As per the Weather Sys, the district has not
received any significant rainfall from last three months and no rainfall is
expected over the district during next seven days.
In Chittaurgarh, the cumulative growth
index of chickpea is 2012 when sown during 45th week of the year.
The growth index indicates that the crop has attained 50 percent flowering and beginning
of pod formation stage. As per the field information, no major incidence of
pest or disease has been observed as of now.
The RH during the growth period has been between 55 and 78 percent.
Currently, maximum temperature is hovering around 26oC and minimum
temperature is settling at around 8oC. During next seven days, no
rainfall is expected in the district.
In Ganganagar,
considering the sowing during 43rd week of the year, the cumulative
growth index of chickpea is 1645 in this district which indicates 50 percent
flowering of the crop. As per the ground
information, farmers are using their own irrigation sources and the crop has
been irrigated at least three times. The relative humidity has been between 47 and
74 percent during the growth period. Currently, the day temperature is around 23oC
and night temperature is around 7oC. WeatherSys predicts no rainfall
in the district during next seven days.
In Hanumangarh,
the cumulative growth index of chickpea is 1796 in the district when sowing was
started during 43rd week of the year. According to growth index, the
crop has attained 50 percent flowering.
As per the farmers, no incidence of pest or disease has been observed as
of now. The RH during the growth period has been between 52 to 74 percent. The
maximum temperature in the district is ranging around 23oC and
minimum temperature is around 9oC. There has been no significant
rainfall during the entire Rabi season. No rainfall is expected in the district
during next seven days and weather is likely to remain warm and dry.
