Mustard Crop Growth Status in Haryana

As per the Growth Index calculated by metGIS, the Mustard crop in Haryana to witness higher yield as compared to the corresponding period during 2014-15 season. In this report, we have collated the ground information and the analysis carried out by ‘metGIS’ for Mustard crop and current weather in several districts of Haryana. 
In Bhiwani, the cumulative growth index of Mustard is 1291 when sown during 45th week of the year. The growth index indicates that the crop has achieved 50% flowering stage and beginning of pod formation. The field information also confirms the same stage of the crop.  During this year, the crop has achieved 50% flowering about 2 weeks ago. No major incidence of pest or disease has been reported as of now.  Currently, maximum temperature is hovering around 24oC and minimum temperature is settling at around 9oC. During next seven days, no rainfall is expected in the district.
In Hisar, considering the sowing during 45th week of the year, the cumulative growth index of Mustard is 1346 which indicates completion of 50% flowering and pod formation stage of the crop.  As per the ground information, the crop is in good state and confirms the stage as analyzed by metGIS. The growth index is slightly higher as compared to last Rabi season. Farmers are using their own irrigation sources. Currently, the day temperature is around 26oC and night temperature is around 13oC. It shows that the temperature is more than 5oChigher than normal. WeatherSys predicts no rainfall in the district during next seven days.
In Mahendragarh, the cumulative growth index of mustard is 1222 when sowing was started during 45th week of the year. According to growth index, the crop has attained 50% flowering stage and beginning of pod formation.  As compared to crop growth last year, mustard crop in the district has achieved 50% flowering about 15 days earlier. As per the farmers, flowering has started in the crop and no incidence of pest or disease has been reported as of now. The maximum temperature in the district is ranging around 23oC and minimum temperature is around 7oC. No rainfall is expected in the district during next seven days and weather is likely to remain cool and dry.
In Sirsa, considering the sowing during 45th week of the year, the cumulative growth index of mustard is 1327 which indicates completion of 50% flowering and starting of pod formation stage of the crop.  The growth index is almost similar to last year. Farmers of the district also confirm the flowering in the crop. No major incidence of pest or disease has been reported till date.  Presently, the max temperature is around 23oC and min temperature is hovering around 8oC.  During next seven days, no rainfall is expected in the district.
