Flowering Mustard in Bharatpur District of Rajasthan

Mustard in Rajasthan is at flowering stage as observed in our report of 15th December based on Growth Index calculated by metGIS. Mr. Chakradhar Singh, a progressive farmer in Bharatpur today confirmed exactly same status of Mustard. He informed that the crop growth is good.
Mr. Singh also informed that farmers of the district shifted from the cultivation of Pea, Masoor and Chickpea due to saline ground water upto 100 ft. Presently, the borewells have been deepened upto 400ft for better water quality which helps in growing wheat and mustard as main winter crops there.
‘I got the water tested from borewell of my field which is 400 ft deep and the result indicated the high fluoride contain in it and not suitable for drinking purpose’, said Mr. Singh.  For drinking they are using tap water provided from Chambal-Dhoulpur-Bharatpur drinking water project of state government.
The maximum temperature in the district is around 22oC and minimum temperature is around 5oC. The relative humidity in the district is between 70 to 77%. The weather is expected to remain cool and dry with mostly clear sky.
