Mustard Status in Rajasthan

As per the Solvent Extractors’ Association of India, the Mustard and Rapeseed has been sown in about 25.44 lakh ha till 27th January which is approximately 1 lakh ha less than last Rabi season.   According to the farmers, the crop is in maturity stage and harvesting is likely to start within 10-15 days.  Below chart created on the basis of analysis by metGIS depicts that Kota is likely to witness higher productivity and Alwar may record lower productivity. The overall crop growth is good, thanks to irrigation facility available. However, according to farmers, the availability of electricity for running the bore wells is not sufficient.

In Alwar, the cumulative growth index of mustard is 1219 when sown during 44th week of the year. The growth index indicates that the crop has attained flowering stage. Currently, maximum temperature is hovering around 25oC and minimum temperature is settling at around 13oC. During next seven days, light rainfall is expected in the district.

In Bharatpur, considering the sowing during 44th week of the year, the cumulative growth index of mustard is 1885 which indicates completion of 50 percent flowering of the crop.  The relative humidity has been between 54 and 80 percent during the growth period. Currently, the day temperature is around 25oC and night temperature is around 13oC. WeatherSys predicts light rainfall in the district during next seven days.

In Ganganagar, the cumulative growth index of mustard is 1876 when sowing was started during 44th week of the year. According to growth index, the crop is at seed filling stage.  The maximum temperature in the district is ranging around 24oC and minimum temperature is around 7oC.  As per the meteogram, light rainfall is expected in the district during next seven days.

In Kota, the cumulative growth index of wheat is 2362 when sowing was started during 44th week of the year. According to growth index, the crop is at maturity stage. The RH during the growth period has been between 60 and 74 percent. The maximum temperature in the district is ranging around 26oC and minimum temperature is around 16oC. Light rainfall is expected in the district during next seven days.
