Likely Rainfall during This Week over Central and Eastern India
During next three days, light to moderate
rainfall is likely to occur over many parts of Central and Eastern states like
MP, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha and West Bengal. This likely rain could turn out as a savior
of Rabi crops in these states. During
this Rabi season, crops has suffered relatively higher temperature and soil
moisture stress. With this rainfall, the
condition and prospect of the crops like wheat, maize, mustard and chickpea is
expected to improve. In this report, we have collated the current
weather and ground information for several districts of Madhya Pradesh.
Rohtas has been
major wheat producing district in Bihar and Farmers have given two irrigation
to the wheat crop. Mustard and Chickpea is mostly sown in sandy soil. As per
the farmers, the expected rainfall will be beneficial for the crop, especially
which was sown late. In Siwan, wheat sowing was started from November and the
crop has been irrigated at least one time as of now. Mustard sowing has also
completed in the district. Currently,
the max temperature in Bihar is ranging around 24oC and min
temperature is around 10oC. As per the WeatherSys forecast, light to
moderate rainfall is likely to occur in Southern and Eastern districts of the
state during next seven days.
Major chickpea
area in Madhya Pradesh is also expected to be benefited by upcoming
rainfall. As per our metGIS®
software, the crop is in flowering stage and light to moderate rainfall would
enhance soil moisture and reduce the temperature significantly. This
development would mitigate the yield loss in wheat in some extent. Currently,
the day temperature in the state is hovering around 20 to 25oC and
night temperature is between 6 to 14oC. During next seven days,
light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur over middle and eastern parts of
the state.
