Garlic is one of
the important spice crops grown mostly in Rabi season country-wide. The sowing
time varies in different regions. Garlic grows well in average temperature from
13oC to 24oC. During 2013-14, the area and production of
garlic in India was 2.30 lakh ha and 12.52 lakh MT with an average yield of
5.43 t/ha. Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh are major
garlic producing states. Presently, harvesting of Garlic of Kharif crop has
been completed and sowing in Rabi season has started.

commodity as highest price during this year has reached more than double as
compared to last year.
