Guar Status in Haryana

Guar acreage in Haryana was targeted about 3 lakh ha for Kharif season 2015-16.  During this Monsoon season, rainfall in Haryana is 38 percent deficient. This rainfall deficiency has affected several crops in the State. We at WeatherSys monitor Guar crop growth vis-à-vis the actual weather and weather forecast on day to day basis. We also gather ground information on the status of the crop and associated weather in major growing districts.  In this report, we have collected ground information of Guar crop status in several districts in Haryana.

In Rewari, due to long dry spell of about more than a month, most of the Guar crop in rainfed fields have been finished.  Crop-week no. 35-37 (24th Aug to 7th Sept) has been driest weeks in Guar crop cycle. Now many farmers are planning to grow Mustard and Wheat in coming Rabi season if it rains well in coming weeks.  WeatherSys predicts moderate rainfall on 22nd and 23rd September.
