Expected Behaviour of SW Monsoon for Next Week
The SW monsoon is entering into a weak phase in the coming week where there will be little or no rainfall in except Himachal and West UP.

Himachal Pradesh/Uttarakhand
Presently, French beans, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Potato, and Capsicum are the main vegetables arriving in Shimla Mandi. The district has been witnessing continuous rainfall from last 4 days which is affecting harvesting and transportation of the products. Traders in mandis could also be also facing problems in storage as most vegetables and fruits are highly weather sensitive. The expected moderate rainfall in Shimla, Dehradun, Nainital and Uttarkashi on 7th and 8th August is likely to slow down arrivals of vegetables like tomato, potato and fruits like apple, pear in the mandis which could reflect into higher prices in coming weeks at the consumption centres.

West UP
There has been isolated light rainfall in the region which is beneficial for main kharif crops like paddy, maize, soybean, moong and sugarcane.  

The sugarcane is in the vegetative stage and will be ready for harvesting during December-January in Muzaffarnagar and Bulandshahar districts. Moderate rainfall is expected on 7th and 8th August which will benefit the crops in both the districts. Paddy transplanting in Muzaffarnagar started from mid-July.  In Bulandshahar, Urad and Til crops are one month old and maize cob formation has started in the district.

Likely Rain During This Weekend over Gujarat : Better Groundnut Prospect

During this Kharif Season, total area covered under Groundnut in Gujarat is about 12.96 lakh ha with the increase of about 71 thousand ha previous Kharif Season ( DOA, Gujarat, 07 th Sept. 2015 ). The crop is in seed formation stage. Deficient rainfall in some districts prolonged upto 5 crop-weeks. Status of Arhar Crop in Maharashtra

Maharashtra is biggest Arhar (Pigeon Pea) growing state in India.  During this Kharif season, total acreage of Arhar in Maharashtra is 1.03 million ha about 86.6% of the targeted acreage of about 1.12 million ha ( DAO, Maharashtra ).
