Good Monsoon Rains to Bring Cheer for Farmers in Maharashtra

Good Monsoon Rains to Bring Cheer for Farmers in Maharashtra
August 4, 2015
WeatherSys have gathered and analyzed the field information of Cotton crop from Yavatmal and Akola districts in Maharashtra.
In Yavatmal, it’s raining moderately today. As of now the district has witnessed deficient rainfall and its effect has been seen in crop in the form of low growth rate. The cotton crop has not attained flowering stage as of now.  Heavy to moderate rainfall for some days will benefit the crop. The meteogram generated through metGIS suggests heavy to very heavy rainfall in next 2-3 days.

In Akola, presently, the rainfall status is more or less same as in Yavatmal.  As the Cotton in the district is mostly rainfed, some farmers have started sowing of cotton about 10 days back.  However, in some places in the district, the crop has started flowering.  A good rainfall will be beneficial for the crop.
Rainfall Forecast
Next 24 hrs: The analysis of the weather conditions reveals likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall (> 50 mm) over Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Wardha, Gadchiroli, Wahim, Hingoli, Nagpur and Akola districts in Maharashtra.
Next 48 hrs: It is expected that heavy to very heavy rainfall (> 50 mm) will continue over Gadchiroli and Chandrapur in Maharashtra and moderate rainfall (>25 mm) would occur over Nagpur, Bhandara and Wardha.
